5 Days To Christmas

What a great weekend we had. Slightly hung over yesterday. I had a headache at the base of my skull that I'm blaming on the Chardonnay, why I keep drinking wine when I prefer a beer is beyond me, and the head-bangers I always wake up with should be enough to convince me next time I shouldn't drink wine. It doesn't agree with me. Even with the half gallon of water I drank.

We had a lovely Saturday. In the afternoon we went to Warren and Julie's (my brother and his wife) for a family get together and mum and I shared two bottles of white wine (the beginning of my sore head). The kids were having a ball and didn't want to leave when it was time to go. This time of year though there are so many invitations to parties we couldn't go to everything. Unfortunately we couldn't attend the BBQ at Jason and Fiona's, or the cricket luncheon that was on Saturday morning. Carly and Alex's cricket team managed the win even without us.

Then at 7 we had to be at Betty & Muriel's Resturant to meet Debbie and her family. There was about 13 of us and we had a great night. All the kids got a xmas present that was totally out of the blue and they were all rapt. The wine flowed all night, the food was excellent, and when I went outside to go home I knew I'd had too much to drink. Debbie has a really nice indoor pool and so midnight swimming will now be on Alex's list of favourite things to do. He loved it. We walked home from there about 1am.

Yesterday (Sunday) Carly and I went to Wagga to help out with the JOST BBQ, and by 5.30 we had raised nearly $250. One of the best BBQs we've had. I cooked cakes all Saturday morning and Nikki and Jackie also baked so without all the cakes we would have made only about $100. Well done everybody.
