I'd been so looking forward to sleeping in this weekend but it was not to be. The Junior Rugby League competition started for us on Saturday and we drove to Harden, about an hour away. There was enough kids in the team to fill two teams, so Alex only got half a game, but he played well and they won convincingly. We went shopping in Cootamundra on the way home, Carly talked me in to buying her a new winter outfit, and we got a present for Terry, whose 30th birthday we were going to help celebrate later.
The theme was horror, so I'd got costumes for us in Wagga earlier in the week. Cost me a fortune too. I was a medieval lady, white faced with puncture wounds in my neck. Carly went as a pretty witch. She lost her nose before we left home and I couldn't help wondering if she really lost it.
Alex was The Man in the Iron Mask. He had on mad face paint and a really cool cape. I must say, it's the most excited I've seen Carly and Alex in quite a while. They were looking forward to the party all week. Most of the people there dressed for the occasion, and it was a top night.
This morning I was up at 7:30 with the worst pounding head. The Monthly Sunday Market was on again, and since I'm running it, I had to drag myself out of bed. It was another dismal failure. Besides myself, only two other stall-holders turned up, and one of those went home around 10am. I stuck it out until 12 and with only $30 in my pocket, called it a day. I'm even considering calling the one in June off. It'll be winter and possibly bloody cold, and with the lack of response for the last few markets, it seems alot of wasted effort.
It was Mothers Day today and Emily and Kai called in on me at the Market with a beautiful present for me. After lunch Lauren and Daniel came bearing more gifts. Carly bought me a black handbag, and Alex made a recipe-holder for me at school. It was a lovely day. Mum must have been in Wagga visiting her mother when I rang, so I didn't catch up with her till tonight.
