I got the quote for the renovations, and yes, it's way over what I asked the bank for. After waiting all afternoon for the bank to phone me back I discovered that someone had kicked the phone line out of the wall. Not impressed. I have a typing test to do tomorrow for the job I applied for at Junee Council. Everything is happening. The builder wants to start next week if all goes well with the finance, and today I didn't know where to start. Everywhere I look there's things that need sorting and packing. I got rid of all Alex's bike parts from the side and front verandahs and now he has a good little spot for all his repairs under the cubby house out the back. I'll put a table out there for him which has metal drawers that he can use for all his bits and pieces.
Before I can clear off the side verandah I have to make some room in the shed. That in itself will be a major job. A dirty job too. There's no floor in the shed and everything gets covered in dust, even with the carpet I laid out there. It's all very exciting. The kids have been helping this afternoon. Carly has packed half the bookcase, only two more to go. The boxes I have will run out long before the packing so I'll have to organise more of them. We can probably stay here for the first two weeks of the renovation, it's only when they start the gyprocking that we'll have to go, and during that time I can be emptying all the rooms. We'll go to my mothers' for two weeks. She has two spare bedrooms and it's close so the kids won't be put out at all. The holiday to Queensland that I was planning for the July school holidays will have to be put on hold. I haven't got enough money for the painting so things will be tight for the next few weeks until we move back in. Lucky it's my brother who'll be doing the painting. It won't be a love-job, but I'm hoping his quote will be a 'family' one.
