He can call me Nanna Toni

The baby has arrived.Little Zeke (Ezekiel Joseph) was born at 4:16am on June 24 and mother and baby are both well. Lauren had an easy birth, drug-free, and is already talking about the next one. He's a beautiful little boy, weighing in at 6lb 8oz, a nice size for a first-time mum. Lauren and Zeke went home after spending 5 days at the hospital and they're settling in nicely to the new routine. Daniel is a proud father and has taken 3 weeks holidays to share the first few weeks. Emily (Lauren's sister) and Tiana (Daniel's sister) shared the birth experience, and Emily thought it was the scariest experience she's ever had and isn't so keen now to have one of her own.

babyhasarrived.jpgOn the home front, the work is progressing nicely. The lounge-room looks huge now, with 2 walls taken out, and all the rooms have the gyprock up. The builder is putting in the new kitchen and waiting for the plasterer to arrive. I' ve come home this afternoon to use the clothes dryer, catch up on all my email, and update this weblog. It's been almost 2 weeks since I've been able to sit at the computer and I'm not nearly as stressed as I thought. I've been at my new job for 2 weeks and finding my way quite nicely. Last week I was thrown in the deep end answering all the incoming calls but I soon learned who was responsible for what section of Council, and their extensions, so it was a good experience. Next week I'm back to 20 hours and just wordprocessing and although I enjoyed the 35-hour week, having more time on my hands will be nice.

Carly and Alex started their school holidays on Friday so I'm thankful that we're staying at mum's house where she can watch them for the next 2 weeks while I'm working.
