Lamenting the Google Desktop Search Tool

|

Google Desktop Search (GDS) is using up 100% of my CPU. This is the response from Google.

We're aware of this problem, and our engineers are currently investigating. As an immediate solution, you may want to try uninstalling Google Desktop, restarting your computer, and then reinstalling the latest version of Google Desktop from http://desktop.google.com We realize this is an inconvenience and hope to have this fixed soon.

I installed GDS from the site so imagined I was using the latest version. A brilliant program and I love it, but not at the expense of my computer performance. Opting not to have the GDS start with windows is the way to go. It's still installed, and if I need to use it I can. Since the program is still in it's beta stage I can understand there's issues to iron out. Obviously this problem is one of them. I can't wait for the final release to start using the GDS again.

Sigmund Freud

"Illusions commend themselves to us because they save us pain and allow us to enjoy pleasure instead. We must therefore accept it without complaint when they sometimes collide with a bit of reality against which they are dashed to pieces."
