Errors with Security Code

I've been trying all afternoon to get the MT plugin SCode to work but with no luck. I must have read every post on the forum and although lots of people are having the same problems there seems to be no solution. So I've removed the code from my templates and turned the feature off for now while I wait for an update or a fix to the problem.

I checked the error log for my site and it seems that two lines of code are causing the problems. I looked at these but am none the wiser:

"my" variable $entry masks earlier declaration in same scope at /home/xxxxxx/public_html/cgi-bin/mt/plugins/SCode/SCode.pl line 192. Useless use of private variable in void context at /home/xxxxxx/public_html/cgi-bin/mt/plugins/SCode/SCode.pl line 57.

If anyone has a fix for this I would love to know. Not that I get alot of spam, but certainly more than I used to and it's a problem that will no doubt only get worse.

Update: The problem seemed to be because I'd left off the leading slash when I entered the full path to my tmp folder. My mistake. So now I have all the code in place, no errors from my server, but can still post comments whether I enter the code or just ignore it. I even entered a wrong code and all times the comments were posted. So I guess it just doesn't work. I've been to the Movalog Forum to see what's happening over there, but other people are having my problems without a fix. Add a comment if you'd like to see the non-action!
