I discovered Flock today and have been reading some reviews at About and Movable Tweak. What the... Flock 0.5pre? is an excellent read about the features of Flock.
I'm writing this review with the blog post part of Flock and am disappointed that I can't see the HTML (when I create a link) and can't paste the link, it has to be typed. Sometimes it's the little things that count! The ease of posting an entry to your blog is excellent. You're instantly presented with an entry page where you can enter tags, change your blog, if you have multiple, and choose a category (though this is not giving me the option to update the list so I can choose. I may have to save this as a draft first. We'll see. Flock presents a good WYSIWYG editor with more features than is available in the MT entry window: increase or decrease font size, create bulleted or numbered lists, indent, etc. all with the click of a button.
Flock is still in the development stage and there are some noticeable bugs. I tried to import my IE favourites, cookies, passwords, etc in one go and the program stopped responding and the whole thing crashed. Perhaps I needed to do one task at a time: my favourites list is especially big. There's an interesting feature called Shelf. You can drag and drop snippets of text, images, urls, etc onto the shelf for later retrieval. I can see myself using this quite a bit. I'll continue to have a play with Flock and try some of the extensions and look forward to the better release. It looks like a great internet browser and the integrated blogging feature is an added bonus.
