World AIDS Day

Remember...
Do not tear down the east wall
To repair the west.

ribbon_aids_day.gifIt was World AIDS Day yesterday - the international day of action on HIV and AIDS which takes place every year on 1 December. I did my bit and bought a red ribbon to promote awareness of HIV and to support people affected by it. This year is the 17th Anniversary of World AIDS Day. HIV/AIDS is still a major health issue with no known cure. HIV/AIDS has not gone away and Australians need to be informed and reminded that we should not be complacent but remain responsible for ourselves, vigilant with prevention and supportive of those who have HIV/AIDS. The theme this year aims to educate people and raise awareness that prevention is the best cure for HIV/AIDS. It also aims to inform people about the help that is available for those who need it, and that people living with HIV/AIDS deserve acceptance, encouragement and understanding.
