It's been another hectic week for me. Work is great, and on Thursday I spent the afternoon selling tour tickets for The Big Ride that came through Junee. About 800 bike riders started arriving in the morning and kept coming for most of the afternoon. They set up tents at the local soccer ground and it was a sight to see. Row after row of little dome tents with people and bikes everywhere. Our Community Development Officer at Council organised a bus that ran every half hour around a few local attractions and I sold tickets and answered questions about Junee and the various tourist attractions. I learned alot, not having done any of the tours myself. Lots of people sat with me in the shade while they waited for the bus and I had some very interesting conversations.
We don't have a Rebel Sports store in Wagga but there was a clearance sale on at the showground that we went and had a look at yesterday. I really wanted a pair of footy boots for Alex but kid-sized boots was the first thing they sold out of so that was disappointing. We ended up getting him a pair of Nike boots at the Sportsmans Warehouse and thanks to my new son-in-law, got a good deal too. Carly ended up with new runners too so the guy was quite the salesman. We had quite a shopping day and came home with a new mouse for Alex plus all the gear it needed. He's called him Morris and we cleaned up a little critter cage and Morris is having fun running in the wheel and enjoying his new home. Carly got a budgie and a few bird toys and seed, and "Gretchen" had a good fly around the house today because Carly managed to let her out of the cage. Our cat Roxy is in "Cat Heaven" with a couple of new "friends".
Last night we went to a friend's 35th birthday party and all had a good time. Suzanne has two kids that both Carly and Alex are friends with. I woke up this morning a little hung over and have a fridge full of beer that I don't want to know about.
