I've had one of those weeks where nothing is right. I've had the flu all week and so not feeling the best has made my computer problems even worse. Last weekend I completely reinstalled my C drive, after trying to do a Ghost restore that turned out badly. My only option was to reinstall and it took me about 4 days to get the computer back to the way I like it, with all my tweaks and specialised software. It started out a network problem again. Carly kept losing her connection after I thought I'd fixed it all.
Since re-installing all the software from scratch, and adding Zone Alarm to look after the firewall this time, the network is working great. I have green lights where before I was getting an orange flashing light on the wireless access point, my torrent software is green all the time (a first) and the whole system is no longer bogged down with millions of programs I rarely used. So perhaps a reinstall wasn't such a bad thing after all. I'm a little reluctant to do another Ghost backup, wondering if I'll get more of the same errors. A back-up is a necessity, as I'm well aware, and now would be a good time to do it.
Work was good this week, even though I was getting the evil eye from a few people who didn't want the flu. They kept telling me I should be home in bed, and today I was only at work for an hour and ended up coming home. I've done nothing but sneeze and blow my nose and it's so sore and red and stuffed up. I managed to do some washing so the day wasn't a total loss.
