I've discovered a couple of great little tools that I've blogged about on The Playground. The first one is GeoURL. It's a location-to-URL reverse directory that will allow you to find URLs by their proximity to a given location. You can see who's blogging in your location and it gives you a sense of community.
Another little tool that I used to create a favourite icon on The Billy Lids is Favicon Maker. You upload an image that you would like to use, and they create the icon for you and give you the code to put on your template. Very quick and no annoying popup windows like so many other "useful tool" sites
MT Mail Entry is a Movable Type Plugin that allows you to send an entire entry via email, rather than just the link to an entry. I've implemented this plugin on a couple of my sites, and although there was a bit of work tweaking the templates and adding the code, I was happy with the results. I've included some updated templates and instructions for anyone wishing to use this feature on MT 3.2.
