I have a huge music collection and it pains me to see other people's music collections that seem to be stuck in an era.
I have a friend whose music collection consisted of about 8 albums, all from the 80s. Yes, that was the era when it was "all happening" for us, but come one, life goes on.
My own personal music collection consists of lots of new music and I love all of it. I wouldn't download it otherwise. I have a drive on my computer dedicated to just music and it holds 26.9 GB of music. The singles folder has 713 files and my albums folder consists of 216 albums with a total of 5319 files, some of the artists have 6 or more albums. All up I have over 6,000 songs on my computer.
When I'm drinking I love to listen to all the old tracks. I have favourite songs that go back years, and of course they do because I'm 47 years old, so I love heaps of songs from every year that music has been important to me, and that goes back to when I was about 12 years old.
I have surround sound speakers connected to the computer because I have such a huge collection on my hard drive. Why not? I bought them off EBay for a steal, and love how my whole room vibrates with the output. I can even feel it on the floor when the music is pumped up. That way, when I'm singing my guts out, the volume actually drowns me out, which is good, because I don't want my neighbours to hear me singing my guts out when I've had a few too many beers. Which is when I tend to pump up the sound.
I have another cool program called Evil Lyrics, which, when is running at the the same time, looks up the lyrics for the song that is playing. I love it.
