My Weblogs

Remember...
We can study until old age....
And still never finish.

After reading this weblog tonight I realise it's quite a while since I've written anything personal. I have several blogs now, and I tend to write all the personal stuff on Toni's Alternate World, my free Blogspot blog. Not that I like it any better, I love MT, it's an obligation I have to my blog, to keep it going. Probably because it's "out there", and not on a site I manage, it feels more personal because I get few visitors.

This weblog is such a mixture of content. There's heaps of technical posts that wouldn't interest some visitors, and anyone coming here for the "Movable Type" stuff probably won't be interested in my personal life.

I've tried to narrow the content categories for my newer blogs, especially Loving You: it's solely for a collection of love poems and all the links are internal. It's my own pretty catalogue of love poems that were once important to me but don't want to lose. Here is a way to read them when I please and it doesn't bother me if there are no visitors.

The Playgound has no personal posts, and focuses more on Movable Type in general, plugins and template tweaks.

When I first installed MT 3.3 I did it on a different webserver as a fully fresh install. I started a blog called Babble On, discussing the installation and my success with a few plugins. I've tried to keep it fully focused on that particular install, but since upgrading this installation only a few days later, I haven't wanted to double-post, and have posted most of the MT stuff on The Playground. I was surprised, with only two posts, that I got comments and questions. I posted a disclaimer to say I was no expert and it wasn't associated with MT except as a personal testing ground.

Spitting Into the Wind has lots of images and is full of trivia and news stories. There's a few personal and funny posts, but mainly is spit and splutter. I love the theme design and think it's another pretty blog. I try to avoid technical talk altogether.

Inspirational Tidbits is my Toni's Corner of the World Quotes tab. It integrates perfectly with this weblog but is a separate blog. The Gallery tab is a completely separate installation that integrates perfectly with Toni's Corner of the World as well.

The Billy Lids is one for the kids. The name is Australian rhyming slang for "The Kids". Because it's for kids and not about kids, it's hard to know what to write about. What interests me doesn't necessarily interest my kids, so I'm not sure where I'm going with this blog.

Fully Sick is a weblog that I haven't put my name to and don't have any contact details except the comment forms. It's my shocking site.

I guess the content of all the sites put together paints a pretty good impression of what I'm about. A romantic, a bit nerdy, a blogaholic, MT obsessed, family-oriented but a bit outrageous.
