First of all, that Email authentication tweak hasn't really helped. All someone needs to do is enter a bodgie name at hotmail or gmail and the script says, yes, that's a real domain. When testing I used addresses similar to the emails I'd been receiving, eg, xyz@sdfg.com. There is no sdfg.com so they were blocked. That part at least does work, it just doesn't solve the problem. The other part of the code actually checks for a response from the email address server but I had problems getting it to work so ignored it. So I'm still getting daily spammy email from my contact form.
It's so annoying that people have the need to be in your face with their unwanted products. Why would I be interested in penis enlargements? Or Viagra? I'm not even a man. And buy cheap software!! Why? When I can download it for free from any of the various torrent sites.
One thing that has helped to slow this down to one or two a day instead of the 10 or so I was getting was to include a message on the contact page:
What I feel like saying is @#$& OFF!!!
