Sore and Sorry

Caution: StairsToday I can hardly walk or turn my head around. I was taking out a basket of washing yesterday before I took the kids to touch football in Wagga, when the back step snapped in two and I went down like a sack of potatoes. I hit my head on the step, and lay there thinking I'd broken my back. I had visions of Christopher Reeve falling from his horse and laying there thinking, "Shit, I've done it now!". Funnily enough I thought it would heal, just that I'd be out of action for a while.

Carly was in the back yard at the time, and all she could do was laugh. I guess it looked pretty funny. The washing basket was on top of me and a few clothes went flying, and I couldn't move for a few minutes. She eventually got herself together and helped me to stand up. I have a huge graze on my back and one along my forearm with a terrible looking bruise around my wrist. I must have put my arm down to try to cushion the fall but it all happened so quickly I can't remember doing it.

This morning I'm aching all over but have managed to get the rest of the washing out, though my trip down the stairs was done with caution today.

Both Alex and Carly won their games of touch. Alex scored a try (that I didn't see again: too busy talking), and Carly scored 3 tries. So far both the teams have won all their games. This is Carly's 3rd season, and Alex's 2nd, and you can tell the teams that are playing for the first time. The wins are quite big. Carly's team won 11-0 and Alex's team won 29-0. Most of the teams hate coming up against the boys team: they've won the comp for the last 2 years.
