Remember...
"God gives us our relatives - thank God we can choose our friends."
Ethel Watts Mumford (1878-1940)
Tonight I can hardly walk and the muscles in my thighs are screaming. I went along to a boxercise class at the gym after a few of the women from work talked me in to it. It started out great, and I managed to do the first 10 push-ups easy enough, but after 45 minutes of full-on workout I could barely lift myself up with the last set. I enjoyed it though and I'll be going back next week. Skipping, step-ups, running, sit-ups, more skipping, more running, the small punching bag, the big punching bag, star jumps and push-ups. Done in a circuit, about a minute for each thing, and back to the start. I figure it will take me about 6-8 weeks before I can do it without the pain afterwards. Tomorrow will probably be worse, but hey, there's no gain without the pain. (So they say!)

Carly slept at her Dad's tonight and Alex and I watched a DVD we hired called "Domino". A very good movie that I'll definately watch again. It had a huge cast of good actors, including Mickey Rourke, who I fell in love with in 91/2 Weeks, along with Keira Knightley, Edgar Ramirez, Lucy Liu, Mena Suvari, and Christopher Walken.
Alex has a public speaking project and he wanted to do it on the Tasmanian Devil, so we searched the Internet for info, and got a heap of information. I typed it up for him and we cut it in to palm cards, and he's been practicing the rest of the night. His speach focuses more on the disease that is currently wiping the Devils out, and there numbers are declining so drastically that they are fast becoming an endangered species. Hopefully they won't become an extinct species.

I have less than a year now to give up smoking, I promised the kids I'd give up before I turn 50. The count-down has begun.
