I had an RDO today and first thing I went down and bought myself a new vacuum cleaner. It's a Volta, bagless (YES), and small and sleek looking but with lots of grunt. It actually made me want to go home and vacuum to my heart's content. I even used the dusting brush on the window sills and window gauze after the dust storm we had last week.
Later, I cleaned the front verandah and pulled all the dead things from the garden, and gave the lavender bush a trim. I just hope I haven't killed it because I owned another lavender bush that I gave a haircut to and it never recovered. My friend Thommo came over and did the lawns, so inside and outside are both clean and I feel good.
This afternoon I sat down and watched 3 episodes of the TV show Prison Break. I have 1 to go and 2 episodes of Lost to catch up on, though I'm about 10 episodes ahead of the TV thanks to a wonderful torrent site that I love to use. I've even managed to read a couple of chapters of my latest book.
All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable and productive day.
I have less than a year now to give up smoking, I promised the kids I'd give up before I turn 50. The count-down has begun.
