And So It Begins Again

Remember...
"Good friends are like stars...
You don't always see them, but you know they are always there."

On Tuesday school started and Alex was up early (for a change), excited, I think, to be going back. He's in his last year of primary school. Carly didn't start back until Wednesday, and on Thursday morning woke up with a bad case of conjunctivitis. So, off to the Doctor we went, and she had to have the rest of the week off.

Monday, I'm back to work, and touch training is in Wagga on Monday and Wednesday for Alex for the State Cup. He's off to Wollongong later in the month on the bus, I won't be going, but he's very excited about it. Cricket kicked off at 8.30am and I arrived all puffy-eyed, hopefully just a bad night's sleep and not the first signs of conjo for me. Alex fielded all day, and next week their team will bat. This is the first 2-day game they've played and he didn't particularly want to go, but after threatening to drag him out of bed he was fine.

After cricket I went to fix a friend's computer and found they had 55 instances of spyware, and 17 of those were browser hijacking, hence their problem of not being able to get online. I think I was there about an hour but everything is working fine now, antivirus is up to date and I've promised them a copy of Spyware Doctor. I can't recommend that program enough, and it's probably the best $50 I spend each year. Only yesterday I noticed it said I had 9 problems, but it didn't ask any questions: just ran the scan and fixed everything. That and my AVG are the two must-haves when it comes to protecting your computer. Plus I use Zone Alarm, which is a better option than the Windows Firewall.
