I had the best time in Queensland and it was lovely to see Dad and a couple of Aunts and Uncles. The caravan park at Kirra is so peaceful and pretty, I could quite easily live there, and can see why everyone wants to retire there.
I walked down to the beach most days, and the weather was great, if a little sticky. The pool at the caravan park was warm, but better than the heat so I used it quite a lot.
I went to the local club with Dad a few times and was introduced to so many people. He's been there about 3 years now, and rarely misses the happy hour (that goes for 3 hours!) so he's quite a local identity. He has some lovely young and old friends.
I did lots of shopping, which everyone back home was thrilled about, and enjoyed a night at Dracula's that was the best show I've ever been to. I laughed so hard I thought my makeup must have run, and the food and entertainment was excellent. I wished I could have taken photos but that was a no-no.
Back home now and the kids are back to school. I spent 3 days cleaning out Alex's bedroom and have thrown out half of his toys to make some room in there. If only he could keep it looking good, I'd be happy.
I'm back to work on Monday and not particularly looking forward to it.
