Goodbye FastCGI

I have a real problem on my site with the plugins page since I switched to FastCGI. Every time I access the System/Plugins page, I get stuck there and can't go anywhere. No links will work and even exiting the site and re-logging in brings me back to the plugins page. My only option is to over-write the mt.cgi file on the server.

MT behaves normally for everything else until I go the the plugins area again, and again, same thing, I can't get off the page. I've searched for anyone with a similar problem but it's just me.

So I've removed the lines of code in the .htaccess file in MT to stop it using FastCGI and I'll see how it goes. It's driving me crazy. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Perhaps it was the upgrade to 3.34 that's causing me the problems: I'm not sure. Tomorrow I might try down-grading (something I haven't tried to do before) and try the get everything working properly again, before reinstating FastCGI under 3.33, because I'd really like to be using it.

If it's not one thing, it's another.

Update: Yes, the problem was definately FastCGI, because now that the lines of code are gone from .htaccess, the plugins page is behaving normally.

Not sure what to do about it, because I don't want to downgrade MT and find that FastCGI is still the problem.

I have less than a year now to give up smoking, I promised the kids I'd give up before I turn 50. The count-down has begun.

Robert F. Kennedy

"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and injustice."
