Queen Elizabeth II turned 81 earlier this year and we get a day off work to celebrate! How cool is that lady! I've organised an RDO so I can turn the long weekend into a 4-day weekend, and tomorrow I'm using the voucher Lauren gave me for Mother's Day to have a massage. I've never had a real massage before and I'm a little nervous. I'm really ticklish, and I have visions of myself laying there with uncontrollable fits of giggling.
I logged in tonight, and once again, I was forbidden access. Thankyou AutoBan, doing your job a little too well again. But really, I think it's the fault of using FastCGI. When AutoBan goes to update the .htaccess file, if there's another process running, the .htaccess files gets blanked out and ends up with no data in there. AutoBan then bans anyone and everyone, and it's just a matter of deleting the original .htaccess, and renaming my backup file (which I've had to do on a number of occasions to get access). Whoever said life wasn't meant to be easy had computers in mind when they coined that little gem.
My computer is still giving me hell every time I boot up. Tonight I installed a few Windows updates, and when I shut down and rebooted, everything started normally, with no excessive CPU usage, flickering icons or windows. Another problem I've had is with the browser and email programs stopping and restarting uncontrollably. I've crossed my fingers so much lately hoping that every time I do something it's going to fix things that I'm all knotted up. Tomorrow will tell.
Alex is giving me a hard time about getting to sleep, telling me how sore his toe is again after playing soccer today, that I'm sure he's setting himself up for a day off school tomorrow. These kids think they've got it over me. I sound hard, I know, but I was a kid once too. A good day off is a day with no kids around.
