More Mundane Things To Attend To

Me some days when things don't go rightToday I have to attend to more mundane things, like the dreaded housework. I've spent the last 3 days working on my blog-site, getting it just so but now it's time to face reality again and take a look around. And all I see is mountains of work to do. It rained yesterday and the trailer is still loaded from the market I went to on Sunday (and now it's Friday), so it needs emptying. That means hauling everything back to the side verandah that I really wanted cleaned off. Oh well, in another life perhaps things will be just how I want them. In this one, unfortunately, I have to do all the work.

My own website "Junee Magic" hasn't been touched in a week. The plan there is to redo all the coding and get it approved as proper markup. That alone is a daunting task, the site has over 300 pages and will probably take me months, meanwhile I'm typing away on here and getting nothing else done. When I read back through what I've written it gives my grey-matter a gentle nudge.

Title Tags

I had this name tag designed for free (Not the title tags that have anything to do with MT). I received some excellent title tags that were designed for me and I thought I'd give her a plug. The website is www.tonitags.co.uk. Just a co-incidence too that the designer is Toni. They offer one free tag made, but she sent me two sheets of them. Probably because she'd already made them all for herself. I have them as signatures in my e-mails.

Girlie Night

What a night it was. Carly has a friend staying here that moved to Canberra at Christmas time, so another friend wanted to sleep over also. I didn't mind at all because Alex is in Wagga for 2 days with his cousin. I had a 2am night on the computer and the girls just would not go to sleep. At 2:30 this morning I was getting quite angry that they wouldn't settle down. Three 12-year-olds together is not good. The giggling and carrying-on was driving me crazy. And usually I can turn out quite easily.

favicon.bmp My all-night effort looking for insights into tinkering with the templates didn't get me far. The only new thing is the favourites icon that I implemented today. I still can't decide on the header image.

I'm thinking too of changing the name. Something more suitable for a soon to be grandmother. Something quite unoriginal like my name, perhaps Toni's World. Since this site is all about me and what goes on in my world I think it's appropriate.

Market Day Flop

feeling sad and despondent today

What a waste of time and effort the last 2 days have been. Not impressed with this morning's market at all. No-one turned up. Two people who dropped in to browse did only that. Rhonda sold cakes and cold drinks from the back of a ute, and I was the only actual stall. The bbq ran for about half an hour and made $4, and a total of $7 was made on the day.

I haven't even got the energy to unpack the trailer. Hope it doesn't rain, because it looks like it might. A month of no rain and it would be just my luck.

Busy Saturday

It's Saturday morning. Alex went off at 7:30 am to a rugby football comp in Tumbarrumba with the Clunes (thanks John and Denise) , and I laid in bed and watched the 20th episode of Lost. We're up to about 6 here in Australia. Luckily the episodes are downloadable. That was one reason I changed my ISP.

Carly and I are getting everything ready for the Junee ALIVE Sunday Market tomorrow and there's plenty to do. First is half a dozen onions that need cutting up. We're fighting over who will do it. I found an electric chopper that might solve the problem. Then there's the stuff we're getting rid of. So much junk it's not funny. The trailer will be overloaded for sure.

The local paper is coming to take photos and do a story for us, so everything has to be just so. I even put a colour(Australian spelling for those that are wondering) in my hair yesterday. Slowly but surely I'm determined to rid myself of all those dust-collectors. Dusting isn't high on my priority list. House-work isn't either, but it has to be done. The dog-bitten leg is sore as hell today. I've heard about nothing else all morning. Doesn't want it checked out properly though to whinge on.....(I don't sound like a very caring parent, do I?)

School Holidays and Dog Bites

I don't know what it is with school holidays and dog bites, but today school broke up. Carly has been on a camp for the last 4 days, went down the road to look at some pups and the "bitch" bit her on the knee.

On the first day of the last school holidays, Alex got bitten on the back of the leg by the dog next door to this one.

Not a good start to the school break. Carly has just had a tetanus booster so I didn't go running up to Emergency with her. Just poured antiseptic over the bite and covered it. She can sit down and watch The Incredibles, very funny movie. We bought it Wednesday when it became available. Alex has watched it twice already, and we got a laugh both times, so I would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying it.

Four Day Break

One day I'll win the dream houses I get tickets in every couple of months, sell it, keep all the furniture, build a bigger house, and dream on........

Not such a bad note to end on, it's going on midnight and tomorrow is Good Friday. A sleep-in and fish for dinner. Chocolates on Sunday. This is turning out to be a good weekend.

Happy Easter!
