Heather Jansch is a sculptor who makes the most beautiful life-size horses from driftwood.

Heather lives and works in England and does a variety of animal works. She collects the driftwood on the beaches around Devon after high tides and storms. Sculptures can be viewed or bought, or you can even commission your own! Signed limited edition prints of most images on the site are also available.

Heather also creates bronze sculptures if driftwood doesn't appeal to you.

The Running Around Doesn't End

Alex's birthday presentAlready, Alex's new petrol remote car is in the shop getting a tune-up! It's a week old! I was hoping he'd be able to hang around and watch the guy so he could learn a few things, but he was asked just to leave it and come back in on the weekend. We took a mate of Alex's to Wagga with us so he could buy a new scooter for the Skate Comp that is on here in Junee on Saturday, but sadly, the shop didn't have them in stock, and he was paying with a gift voucher, so we couldn't just go somewhere else and buy it. He was more than a little disappointed. I'm sure Alex will lend him his scooter on the day.

Alex won junior bike and scooter at the last skate compLast school holidays, Alex came first in both Junior Scooter and Junior Bike, and the lady who runs it asked him if he would like to be a judge, and give some of the other kids a chance. He said no, and won again. There might be more competition here on Saturday, with kids from Leeton coming over for the day, so Alex may not have it all his own way this time.

I'm giving them a hand to run it this weekend and will end up with a few hours off at work. It's a Youth Project event, run by Council's Community Development Officer and some of the local kids usually offer to commentate and judge, but this time around there's professional skaters coming to judge the skating, and give a few lessons prior to the start for those that want it.

Football doesn't begin for another week, which is lucky, or Alex wouldn't be going in it, though I know I'd have a fight on my hands.

Webshots Photo Linking

|

I've discovered a new easy way to share photos on the net. Webshots has made it easy to add links to photos you can upload to their site. This is a great idea if you need web storage elsewhere, and the links can be added to emails, blogs, websites, etc.

I've used two examples from the Photo of the Day at Webshots Blog site. There's a good selection of photos from several categories. With over 300,000,000 photos stored at Webshots, it's easy to find something new and different to look at every day!

Original Mud Map of Australia

My friend Jay lives in Queensland and she sent me this wonderful map of Australia. This photo was taken on one of the remote road trips.

Uploaded Two More Albums

|

I've uploaded two more albums to the photo gallery. The first is a collection of photos considered the best of 2004. The second is a collection of funny bumper stickers. Hope you enjoy them.

There's a collection of funny and interesting photos in the gallery that I'm hoping no-one will be offended with. I have a rather warped sense of humour as these images show. I collect anything that gives me a moment to pause, so I hope you enjoy them too.

I had a collection of Day-After photos; why you shouldn't drink with friends, but some of the faces were too obvious so I took them off. I wouldn't have wanted to be captured in some of the situations either. I'll leave it up to your imaginations....

If you're the copyrighted owner of any of the photos that are displayed in my gallery and do not wish them to be publicised, please contact me and I will remove them. In the meantime, no harm done or intended.

My Not So Imaginative Me

fighting brain drain.jpg I have brain drain right now. Sitting here with an empty head. Fighting Brain Drain.

I started a photo sharing website today where users can create an account and upload there own photos. I'm not sure whether I want to implement that yet though, my space could be gone in no time. Perhaps I'll just keep it for personal stuff.
ani-brain_drain.jpgI have my eyes looking a little like this tonight. Time to get off the computer and enjoy the school holidays with the kids. Take some photos maybe.

Bad luck about Google and Overture today. Seems they might be losing all of those millions they're making. They're getting sued by some Government company for illegal use of a trademark (I think). There'll be plenty of news about it in the newsfeeds.

A Google Search

|

A brain drain image I did a search today on Google and came up with quite a few images for what I thought was an original title for my weblog. Ha! Not so original after all. There were plenty of images actually names 'brain-drain', hopefully not copyrighted. If you are the owner of any of these images and want them removed from my site, please contact me.

A brain drain image This is rather different, at first I thought this brain was smoking a cigarette, but no, it has a drain. I have more pictures, but I'll save them for future posts.

I'm looking for something that would be suitable for the header. I not very imaginative or artistic, and knowing what I want would help too.

Giovanni Papini

"Forgiveness creates an obligation for which there are no exceptions allowed. Love is a fire which goes out if it does not kindle others. Thou hast burned with joy; kindle those who comes near you with the same, lest thou becomest like a stone, hard and cold. You have received much; you must also give."
