"Dream" Card

Dream card


Stars and beads make up this sweet and whimsical card.

What You Need:

  • "Dream" and stars rubber stamps
  • Watermark stamp pad
  • Card stock: 3-7/8 x 5-3/8-inch rectangle of light blue; 5-1/2 x 8-inch rectangle of white; scrap of dark blue
  • Iridescent glitter embossing powder
  • Embossing heat tool
  • 3 x 6-inch rectangle of blue patterned paper
  • Glue stick
  • Wire embellishment
  • Diamond Glaze glue

Instructions:

  1. Ink the "dream" stamp with the watermark stamp pad. Stamp the image onto the light blue rectangle near the bottom right corner, and emboss. Emboss the blue-on-blue rectangle with the stars stamp.

  2. Fold the white card-stock rectangle in half width-wise to measure 4 x 5-1/2 inches. Center and glue the embossed light blue rectangle on the front of the folded card with the glue stick. Tear two irregular-edged 2-inch squares from the star-embossed paper. Glue the squares onto the card front.

  3. Attach the wire embellishment to the card front with the Diamond Glaze glue. Cut a 2-inch star from the dark blue card stock. Glue the star to the center of the card front.

"You Can Fly" Card

You-Can-Fly Card


This colourful butterfly card is easy to make and can lift anyone's spirits.

What You'll Need:

  • "You can fly" rubber stamp
  • Black stamp pad
  • White card stock: 5-1/2 x 8-inch rectangle; 3-inch square
  • Papers: 3-3/4 x 5-1/4-inch rectangle of light blue; 3-1/4-inch square of blue
  • Glue stick
  • Cream acid-free paper raffia
  • Sheer ribbon: 1-1/4-inch-wide light blue and 5/8-inch-wide multicolor
  • Miniature glue dots

Instructions:

  1. Use black ink to stamp "you can fly" along the bottom edge of the 3-inch square of white card stock.

  2. Fold the 5-1/2 x 8-inch white card-stock rectangle in half to measure 4 x 5-1/2 inches. Centre and glue the light blue rectangle on the front of the folded card. Centre and glue the blue square on the light blue rectangle and the stamped square on the blue square.

  3. For the butterfly's body, cut a 1-1/2-inch-long piece of paper raffia and wrap 1/4-inch-wide light blue ribbon around the raffia. Tie the ribbon ends in a knot at one end of the body, and trim the ends to 3/4 inch for the antennae. Fold the multicolour ribbon back and forth, creating three wing sections. Use miniature glue dots to glue the body to the centre of the wings and to attach the butterfly to the centre of the card front.

Big Hug Greeting Card

What You Need:

  • 4 sheets of printer paper
  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Markers, coloured pencils, crayons, stickers
  • Transparent tape
  • Thick white crafts glue

Instructions:

  1. Tape four sheets of printer paper together, end to end. Lay the paper on the floor or a table, and have someone help you trace around one hand and arm to cover half the paper. On the opposite end of the paper, trace around the other hand and arm. Connect the two tracings in the center with tape. Cut out the arms.

  2. Use markers, coloured pencils, crayons, and/or stickers to decorate the card. Write a message across the arms.

  3. Accordion-fold the arms until one hand stacks on the other.

  4. Fold a 14 x 7-inch piece of construction paper in half. Write a message on the outside of the card.

  5. Attach the hug inside the card by gluing the bottom hand on the right side of the greeting card.

Memorable Birthday Card

Use a favourite photo to personalise a birthday greeting. Depending on the photo, you can make the card look silly or stunning or anything in between.

What You Need:

  • Photograph
  • Craft knife
  • Ruler
  • Shades of pink paper
  • Glue stick
  • Gold writing pen
  • Birthday cake sticker
  • White glue
  • Pink glitter
  • Purchased envelope or paper, tracing paper, and pencil

Assorted Envelope Patterns

  1. Crop the photograph as desired using a crafts knife and a ruler. Cut the light pink paper to the desired card size, tearing the short edges.

  2. Cut the darker shade of pink paper slightly larger than photo. Tear the edges. Glue the photograph to the dark pink paper. Glue the dark pink paper to the light pink card.

  3. Use a gold pen to write messages on light pink paper scraps. Cut out and glue to card.

  4. Place a sticker in the lower left corner of the card. Apply white glue along the torn edge of the card front. Sprinkle with glitter. Let the glue dry.

  5. Choose a purchased colour-coordinated envelope or download our patterns. Using white glue, draw a heart shape on the point of the envelope. Sprinkle with glitter. Let dry.

  6. For the envelope, choose a purchased one or use the downloadable patterns.
