The Case of the Stolen Puppies

Did you know that until recently, breeding dogs in China was banned. Mao Zedong (aka Mao Tse-tung, who once said "all power comes from the barrel of a gun") claimed that dog-breeding was a a bourgeois pastime.

A dog farmer in Shanghai has been jailed for 14 years for breaking into a local dog breeder's home, tying her up and stealing 24 puppies. The pups were valued at around $15,000. Seems like it's a lucrative business these days.
