On Body Piercing

Body piercing seems to be all the rage and I'm hoping that when my kids are a couple of years older it will be no longer fashionable. Check out this guy with his tongue sticking out through his chin. Totally gross!

Carly is 13 and keeps telling me she's getting her nose pierced this year. We'll see about that! Another daughter has her belly button pierced, and both my older girls (and myself) have tattoos. This fashion trend has been around for some time now and I'd like to see something new. Just not sure what!

A Money Maker?

I've just finished reading an article from site-reference.com about an idea for making a few dollars. It won't make you a millionaire but who knows?

This guy bought a misspelled domain name after continually wrongly typing in a web address. A search of Google showed him that numerous people had misstyped the same keyword. He found an affiliate willing to pay good commission for links then found an available domain name, bought it, set it up to redirect to the affiliate and is now sitting back for someone to place an order through his link. Read the full story. As he said, it only needs one sale a year to be viable, that's not unrealistic.

I've been wracking my brain all night trying to think of a mis-spelling for a good redirect that would likely have that domain name available. So far I haven't been able to come up with anything. I'd be interested to hear any suggestions or comments. Let me know if it works for you.

Spam Attack and Dodgy Software

I've had a four-fold increase in my email since the start of the year and it's all been spam mail. It's driving my crazy! Emails for Viagra, Penis Enhancements, Cheap Software: I'd dearly love to show these people where they can shove their free software and patches. I thought a patch was something you downloaded to fix security vulnerabilities, not something you put on the end of your "old fella".

New Year Resolutions

I've had 3 weeks now to come up with a list of New Year resolutions but I think it looks like a to-do list. I need to keep coming back to this list so I can cross a few things off.

  1. Make CDs for all those people on my request list.
  2. Move daily photos from Webshots into right folders.
  3. Back up recently downloaded music albums.
  4. Start Xmas shopping in June instead of December.
  5. Exercise more.
  6. Lose some of this weight I'm putting on.
  7. Give up cigarettes.
My list starts off easy and manageable, but finishes on a doozy.

Year's End Coming Up

This year has gone so incredibly fast. I feel like I've been in a whirlwind since I started work at the end of June, there just hasn't been the time to do all the things I was used to. My Junee Magic website didn't get the design upgrade that I wanted to perform in April and I've been far too intent with all my blogging sites to worry too much about it. I've had an xhtml and css learning curve since discovering blogs. Especially my site design using Movable Type with my weblog Toni's Corner of the World. I integrated Gallery into the site design so my weblog would incorporate my photo collection, and there was lots of template modifications that taught me so much about PHP too.

Christmas Rage seems to be in the news this year. Seems there's a rage for everything these days. My wish for everybody is to find the joy and peace of Christmas. The gift-giving and family get-togethers are a chance for us to show the people we care about that they're important to us. It's not about what you get for Xmas but who you will share it with. It's a chance for people to put aside their petty grudges and gripes and be part of the Xmas cheer, a celebration that is shared by much of the world. See the big picture and take joy from it.
